When lonely or in darkness...
“I wish I could show You when you are Lonely or in Darkness... The astonishing Light of your own Being...”

Self is knowing one's own existence
1042. One's own Self, whose greatness is eternality and perfect wholeness, is not at all duality [another thing] to be attained. Uniting with Self is knowing [one's own] existence and is not knowing any other thing. That knowledge [the knowledge of one's own existence] alone is the real form of Self. Gratitude
Gratitude is holding, appreciating, thoughts of what you have
rather than focusing on thoughts of what you do not have....

UNNECESSARY THOUGHTS
Become increasingly aware of unnecessary thoughts. Interrupt habitual
mental movements as often as possible during the day in order to examine
them. The very interruption allows clear judgment of the nature of passing
thoughts. It is like getting out of your car in order to inspect faulty
parts.
A profound awareness of how unnecessary thoughts subtract from us is enough
to end them. If you know the nature of salt water you do not pour it into a
fish bowl requiring fresh water. It is good to find our own examples of
useless ideas. One person might become conscious of maddening repetitions.
Another might see how he is dominated by the desire to be noticed.
Necessary thoughts are those which contribute in some way to psychological
health. Keep this in mind, then regularly dismiss all other kinds of
thoughts."
