Love is letting the other person have it their way.

The vast majority of people's concept of love is actually hate more or less. "I need you, I must have you, I can't live without you, you're mine," is all non love. Love is letting the other person have what the other one wants, not what I want.  What we call love in this world is usually a sensual, selfish emotion---a deal---if you do what I want, I love you, if you don't do it, I don't love you.
