A Cinema Show

M: This external universe is a cinema show to the realized one. It is free and the performance goes on day and night! The realized one lives and works in it knowing that its objects and bodies (people) are illusory appearances, just as an ordinary person knows the scenes and characters on the cinema screen at a theatre are illusions, and do not exist in real life. But the ordinary person takes the external objects of daily life as real, whereas the realized one sees them only as illusory cinema pictures.

Refer to the Source

I want you to be able to refer at any second of the day, no matter
how noisy the exterior or inner condition, I want you to be able
to refer to the source of wisdom inside of yourself anytime you
want. And, thereby, handle that noisy raucous exterior or interior
situation.

Awareness of Self

"...you cannot become aware of yourself, because you are always aware of something else. You are continually distracted by form.  Even when you seem to be aware of yourself, you have made yourself into an object, a thought form, and so what you are aware of is a thought, not yourself."

Deep Sleep in the waking state.

M: Deep sleep is always present even in the waking state. What we have to do is to bring deep sleep into the waking state to get "conscious sleep." Realization can only take place in the waking state. Deep sleep is relative to the waking state.

The difference lies in seeing.

Can that one Consciousness divide itself into two? Is the division of the Self felt? On waking up from sleep, one finds oneself (to be) the same (Self) as in the sleep states. That is the experience of each person. The difference lies in seeing, (or) in the outlook. Because you imagine that you are the seer, (and) separate from the experience, this difference arises. Experience says that your real Self is the same throughout. Do you feel any difference between external and internal in your sleep? This difference is only with reference to the body and arises with body-consciousness (the "I"-thought).

You who slept, are also now awake. There was no unhappiness in your sleep, whereas it is present now. What is it that has happened now, that this difference is experienced? There was no "I"-thought in your sleep, whereas it is present now. The true "I" is not apparent and the false "I" is parading. This false "I" is the obstacle to your right knowledge. Find out from where this false "I" arises. It will disappear. You will be only what you are -- i.e. absolute Being. Search for the source of the "I"-thought. That is all one has to do. The Universe is on account of the "I"-thought. If that ends, misery will also end.

Awaken from day sleep.

Wake up from the dream state.
Detach yourself from yourself.
See the world as your Self.
Become aware of the deep sleep state while in the waking state.
See the Self as real and the world as unreal.
If only we could lay down our ego, our thoughts and desires, while in the waking state, we would realize the Self.
One only has to remove the transitory happenings to realize the ever present Self that underlies all the happenings in the waking state---all of that which is superimposed on the Self.
And we find it was all only a dream---a dream that never was, exactly as in night sleep. Awaken from day sleep.
